Ziegler Family Adoption

Meet the Ziegler family from Washington! They have 5 grown children, one younger daughter adopted from India, and are in the process of adopting a little girl from the Dominican Republic. 

Christopher and Jessica spent time overseas and were surprised at the number of women and children living and working in the streets. They began to learn more about orphans and what happens when children age out of care. The Zieglars were moved to adopt. Their first daughter came home from India. Christopher and Jessica knew they would grow their family again and began the process to adopt. They were led to the Dominican Republic through an advocacy post that ultimately led them to pursue their daughter. 

"As we were beginning to wonder what exactly the Lord had in store for us we were presented with a file of a much older child then we had been anticipating and the child's needs were greater then we had envisioned but as soon as we read her file it was an instant "oh there you are" feeling in our hearts. As if she had been in our family all along."

That file brought much-needed clarity to the Zieglar family, but their journey wasn't always so straight-forward. They did not start their process with the same agency, nor did they start out by pursuing the Dominican Republic. Along the way it became clear that they needed a change in agency due to some questionable ethics. Then when they saw their daughter's file, they knew they also needed to change country programs. While the road to their daughter has had many twists and turns, the Zieglars are committed and ready to bring home their newest little love.
